As a nurse practitioner, Jessica works collaboratively with the supervision of Dr. Jeffrey McLaughlin in the office and operating room.  She has worked with Dr. McLaughlin since 2010 and has 20 years experience in orthopedics.

What is the Focus of Service for an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner?

At the Kennedy Center, Jessica’s patient centered care includes:

• Obtaining medical histories
• Performing physical examinations
• Diagnosing and treating general orthopedic concerns
• Ordering and reviewing diagnostic tests such as lab work, x-rays and MRI’s
• Prescribing medications and other therapies
• Administering injections
• Performing procedures such as wound care, suturing and casting of fractures
• Assisting in surgery
• Do follow-up appointments and patient rechecks
• Providing pre-operative and post-operative care to surgical patients
