Oxford Partial Knee Replacement
The Oxford Partial Knee Replacement is a minimally invasive knee replacement designed with a plastic cushion that allows for more range of motion and moves freely. In appropriate cases, this procedure replaces the need for a total knee replacement.
Partial Knee Replacement is designed for younger people with osteoarthritis or avascular necrosis who require a knee replacement but are too young to be candidates for a total knee replacement. The "Oxford" knee is a uniquely different system that gives younger patients the option for a more active life with less pain and more mobility.
The Kennedy Center for Arthroscopy performs a high volume of mobile knee replacements. Davis Tsai, M.D. has gone through extensive FDA required training to gain approval to perform this surgery. The Kennedy Center for Arthroscopy is the only clinic in the Fox Cities and eastern Wisconsin that is approved to do this procedure.
According to Dr. Davis Tsai, "The benefits of the partial knee replacement system to our patients are substantial. Patients have a shorter hospital stay; they have less blood loss during surgery; they experience less pain; and most patients can return to work and recreational activities faster."
